Crescent United Coalition

Our community-based coalition strives to help our youth be more informed about alcohol, tobacco and other drugs in order for them to make healthy decisions. Through education both in the classroom and the community, we can raise their awareness about the habits they are developing now, and how they can have positive or negative consequences in the future. One of the most important messages we have focused on this year for our kids and families is social norms, and the reality that the majority of our kids are not using alcohol, tobacco or other drugs.

The majority of our kids make healthy choices, based on information collected during the statewide Healthy Youth Survey.  We aim to challenge the perception that alcohol and marijuana use are part of "growing up", and help our kids pursue healthy activities.

Our coalition is hopeful for the future of our community, and we support that mission by having programs inside and outside the classroom, as well as fun and positive activities for our kids and families. Our meetings are held once a month on the fourth Thursday of the month.

Our coalition is proud to be one of many groups and organizations here in Joyce that is committed to supporting our families in ways that build a stronger and more connected community.
